India Visa Application Center is the outsourcing agency of the India High Commission in Dhaka, Bangladesh. IVAC accepts India visa applications from Indian visa seekers in Bangladesh (except for Official and Diplomatic passports). They also offer returning processed passports to applicants.

If you are a Bangladeshi or a resident seeking a visa to India, you must apply through IVAC. Along with IVAC, Dhaka totals 15 branches available around Bangladesh.

All IVAC branches resumed their operation on 11th August 2021. You can submit your Indian visa application at a nearby India Visa Application Center.

IVAC is one of the largest Indian visa processing agencies in the world. IVAC processes approximately five lacs visa applications from Bangladeshi passport holders in a given year. And this is more than any other India visa processing agency in the world.

India Visa Application Center, IVAC in Bangladesh, is managed by the State Bank of India. The only authorized agency for receiving India visa applications in Bangladesh is the State Bank of India’s IVAC.

SBI opened its IVAC’s in Gulshan, Dhaka, in December 2005. And as of now, SBI has 15 IVAC throughout Bangladesh.

SBI intends to open more IVAC in Bangladesh to provide Bangladeshi nationals with timely and high-quality services.

In addition, with India visa processing, IVAC provided various types of service to the peoples of Bangladesh. Recently, to make the visa process, easy IVAC introduced a Cashless visa processing system.

What are the services available in IVAC bd (Bangladesh)?

In addition, with the visa processing, IVAC’s primary service is passport return service. You can collect the passports on or after the delivery date specified in the receipt. In general, passports are delivered between 13:00 and 16:00 hrs. in all IVACs.

2.Online IVAC Payment Gateway:

India High Commission in Bangladesh has undertaken many initiatives to make the visa application process more user-friendly. To that end, the Indian Visa Application Centers (IVACs) launched the ‘Cashless’ visa application system on 4th October 2017.

Now, all applicants will be able to pay the visa application processing fee online. Before visiting an IVAC for application submission, applicants must complete the form and make IVAC payments online.

The initiative of ‘Cashless fee payment’ will significantly reduce applicant wait times at IVACs. Applicants can pay the processing fee from the comfort of their homes or office. Even they can pay on the go at any time after submitting the online visa application. After the payment, visit the IVACs for form submission.

Please keep in mind that the online IVAC payment option is only available to Bangladesh passport holders. Until further notice, it will maintain the current method of paying the visa application processing fee via mobile wallets.

On the left side of the visa application, there is a web file or registration number. The web file or registration number is also available on all IVAC delivery receipts.

4.Travel Card and Dollar Endorsement Facility:

From 9 am to 4 pm, IVAC Dhaka and IVAC Chittagong offer international travel card and dollar endorsement services. Furthermore, international travel card and dollar endorsement services are available at the State Bank of India branch. You can avail of this offer from 10 am to 4 pm.

5.Additional Endorsement Route Service:

From November 2018, Indian Visa Application Centers across Bangladesh will accept additional route endorsements requests on valid India visas. The fee for additional route endorsement service is 300 BDT.

To make things easier, each IVAC will have a separate counter to facilitate the submission of route endorsement applications. In addition to the existing 24 international airports and the Gede/Haridaspur rail and road route, an applicant may request two additional routes.

The online visa application form is mandatory for all applicants.

  2. Fill all the mandatory fields and click submit
  3. Download the application form
  4. Pay visa processing fee online.
    • Visit payment page
    • Fill in the necessary details, web file number, and visa type. When you are done, the total cost will be displayed at the bottom of the page.
    • Pay the fee via Credit/Debit cards, Mobile Wallets, or Internet Banking.
    • You will receive a payment confirmation message. You can check the status of visa fee payment against a web file number. Check the status by clicking the “check payment status” link on the payment application page.
  5. Once the payment process is completed, visit the IVAC center with the application form, passport, and other related documents.

Jurisdiction of Each IVAC center:

Bangladeshi nationals residing in Dhaka must apply at the Indian Visa Application Center- Dhaka.Khulna must apply at the IVAC, Khulna. Barisal Divisions must apply at the IVAC Barisal.

Mymensingh residents must apply at the IVAC, Mymensingh. Jessore Division must apply at the IVAC Jessore, and those residing in Sylhet Division must apply at the IVAC, Sylhet.

Applicants from Brahmanbaria, Comilla, Bogura, Noakhali, Satkhira, and Thakurgoan, can apply at the Indian Visa Application Center in their respective districts.

Other foreign nationals may apply at the IVAC in Dhaka or Chittagong.

Rules and Regulations of IVAC Bangladesh

You need to visit your respective district IVAC in person to submit your India visa application. On the day of the visit, you should follow the below rules,

The following items are not permitted or stored inside the Visa Application Centers due to security concerns.

  • Electronic gadgets or devices like Cameras, mobile phones, MP3 players, audio/video cassettes, laptops, compact discs, floppies, and portable music players.
  • All types of bags include travel bags, briefcases, backpacks, suitcases, leather or jute or cloth bags, and zip folders. Only a plastic bag containing your application documents would be allowed.
  • Envelopes or packages that are sealed.
  • Any flammable item, such as matchboxes, fuel, lighters, and so on.
  • Sharp objects, such as penknives, scissors, or nail filers, should be avoided.
  • Weapons or objects resembling weapons, as well as explosive materials of any kind, are prohibited.

The preceding list is not exhaustive. Other items, at the discretion of security personnel, may be prohibited. During the visa application process, security personnel has the authority to search applicants’ bags at any time.

The IVAC does not have a storage facility for the above said prohibited items. Before entering the center, you need to make alternate arrangements to keep the same.

Relatives, friends, or business contacts to accompany visa applicants are not allowed due to security concerns. Interpreters, on the other hand, are permitted to accompany hearing-impaired applicants to the visa Application Center. IVAC staff will accompany the physically challenged applicants.
