Tourist Visa Requirements for US Residents:

To apply for Italy visa, it is a single entry visa valid for 180 days from the date of issue. The Italy Visa allows the holder to visit Italy only for tourism. Eligible citizens can travel to Italy for tourism for 90 consecutive days a single visit.

Documents Requirements:

Passport: A passport/travel document valid for at least three (3) months after the visa expires, plus photocopy.

Resident Permit: Proof of legal US residency and permission to re-enter valid for at least three months after the visa expires.

Photograph: Two Recent passport photographs are required.

  • Size 4.5 cm and 3.5 cm and 600 dpi.
  • No black and white, only color photos.
  • The Head should fill 70 to 80% of the entire photo. It is centered and squared with the camera.
  • Light-colored and plain, no prints and patterns.
  • No smiling, neutral expression preferred.
  • Eyes open and directed at the camera.
  • The last six months photos were only accepted.

Proof of Residence in Jurisdiction: Proof that you live in the jurisdiction of the embassy/consulate where you are applying for the Italy visa, like a driving license or government ID.

Proof of Financial means: Proof that you have financial means support for the intended journey as set out in the Ministry of Interior Directive, including fixed money of capital plus a per-day amount.

Previous Schengen visas: Provide previous Schengen visas for the past five years, if applicable.

Bank Statements: Applicant bank statement for last three months.

Air Ticket: Provide proof of your travel arrangements.

Hotel Accommodation: Evidence of your hotel accommodation or lodging plans for the stay or if you are staying in hotels, a letter from the hotel confirming the reservation.

Health Insurance: Evidence of health insurance for the time you are in the Schengen places, including insurance to transport you to the US if necessary.

Minor Applicants:

If the visa applicant is a minor, a parent must visit the consulate and submit the application. For a visa application for a minor, you will also need a notarized authorization to travel foreign signed by both parents / legal guardians, a birth certificate translated into English, and photocopies of picture IDs for both legal guardians/parents.

Employment Status:

If the applicant is employed: Applicant should provide a recent letter of references from your employer, which must include employment start date, job title, annual salary, and vacation period. You must include your last three pay stubs.

If the applicant is Self-employed: Provide Letter from the employer, which must include employment start date, job title, annual salary, and vacation period. You must include your last three pay stubs. Provide business bank statements and Business incorporation certificates, and income tax returns.

If the applicant is Unemployed: Provide a NOC letter (No Objection Letter).

If the applicant is a Retired person: Provide Retirement compensation from social security.

If the applicant is a Student: Provide a letter from School.
