Business Visa for Italy FAQs:
Is it necessary for me to apply Italy visit Visa in person, or can I apply via mail?
Applicants must submit their applications in person. Both parents must accompany minors; if both parents are unable to attend, the absent parents must fill out and have notarized a consent letter.
I am an American citizen; do I need a visa to visit a Schengen area Country?
When traveling the Schengen area nations for up to 90 days every semester for tourism, business, invitations, study, on the mission, or to participate in sporting events, an American citizen does not need a visa.
What if I fall in love with Italy and want to remain longer than the 90 days a US citizen is allowed without a visa?
While in Italy, you cannot extend your stay at your leisure.
If you have spent 90 days in the Schengen area, you must exit and return after 90 days for a maximum of another 90 days.
If you plan to remain longer than 90 days, you must apply for a National Visa and explain why you stay so long. A visa may be granted or denied.
Should I submit my passport?
Yes, you have to submit your passport at the consulate or embassy where you apply. You will get it again.
How will I get my Visa after approval?
Once the Italian government approves your visa application, they will notify you of your registered email address. Then you or a third party quickly collects your visa.
