Many of you may be concerned about the travel precautions that must be taken while in Dubai. The following is the answer to the most frequently asked travel measures question during this difficult pandemic period.

Is it safe to visit Dubai? What are the safeguards you have put in place?

The nationwide immunization program in the United Arab Emirates began in December 2020 and is progressing well.

With the assistance of other relevant authorities, the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) continues to prioritize, monitor, and ensure the safety and well-being of all visitors and residents of Dubai.

Dubai Tourism continues to work diligently under the World Health Organization’s guidance to maintain rigorously high standards of public hygiene and safety, ensuring the well-being of all residents and visitors.

Dubai has also been recognized by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) and has received the Safe Travels stamp for the safety protocols in place.

What are the procedures for exiting Dubai Airports after arrival?

Tourists must download the COVID-19 DXB iOS – Android app.

Tourists who exhibit symptoms upon arrival and test positive for COVID-19 after re-testing are subject to a 10-day quarantine:

  • With effect from January 5, 2021, the duration of COVID-19 isolation has been reduced from 14 days to 10 days.
  • A person infected with COVID-19 will be quarantined (home or facility). A confirmed COVID-19 case is isolated for ten days. The isolation period ends when the patient’s symptoms have improved, and there has been no fever for three days in a row, without the use of any fever-reducing medication.
  • Please see this Dubai Health Authority page for more information.
  • Please see this link if you are a COVID-19 close contact case.
  • Unless they are flying with Emirates or FlyDubai, the traveler will be responsible for the cost of treatment and quarantine.

Customers who purchase an Emirates or FlyDubai ticket after December 1, 2020, receive additional multi-risk travel insurance from AIG Travel, which includes coverage for COVID-19 and overseas medical expenses.

In Dubai, you should follow all precautionary measures (washing hands regularly, maintaining 2m social distance, and wearing masks).
