Stay limit in Egypt on an e-Visa

The length of continuous stay should not be longer than 30 days.

Type of Entry

The Egypt e-Visa allows for Single or Multiple Entry, with a maximum stay of 30 days in total.

Can travelers extend their Visa for Egypt or apply for a new one after entering Egypt?

It is also possible to renew the visa in person while still in Egypt. Unfortunately, without leaving the country, it is not possible to do so online. Because the in-person application requires long lines at the only available office in Cairo, many people prefer to leave the country temporarily and apply online in minutes.

Visa renewal applications are submitted at the Egyptian Passports, Immigration, and Nationality Administration office in Abbasiya, Cairo, located in the old Police Academy. Except for Friday, the office is open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. every day.

Difference between Visa validity & duration of stay

Duration of Stay – is the maximum number of days travelers are permitted to stay in Egypt. For example, Egypt is counted as “Day 1” the first day you enter, even if you enter just a few minutes before midnight. Likewise, the “Last Day” is counted as the day you leave Egypt, even if it is just a few minutes after midnight.

Visa Validity – on the other hand, Visa validity is the duration of time from which a traveler can use your Visa to enter and stay in Egypt.

Expected time to get a Visa for Egypt

It can take anywhere from 7 days to get your Kenya E-Tourist, or business visa approved. Make sure to provide all the information/data and supporting documents correctly. The best news is that the Egypt Embassy does not ask you for any additional documents.

How early should I apply for Visa in Egypt?

For e-Tourist and e-Business visas, Applicants of the eligible countries/territories may apply an online minimum of 30 days in advance of the date of arrival.

Can I travel on a Cruise with an Egypt e Tourist visa?

No, the Egypt e Tourist Visa is not valid for cruises as it can be stamped on the passports at specific Egypt airports only. If you plan to enter the country by sea, you need to get a traditional Visa stamped on your passport.

Can I convert my Egypt e-Visa to any other Visa?

No, Egypt’s e-Visa is non-convertible.

I got a new travel document, but my Egypt e Visa was on the old travel document, and it is still valid. So how can I proceed now?

You may be allowed entry into Egypt on the new travel document even if an e Visa has been issued on the old Travel document/passport with the condition that you must carry the new Travel document/passport and old passport on which e Visa was issued.
