  • Passport
  • Copy of birth certificate

Additional documents depending on whether they are traveling accompanied or alone, include:

Travel Alone

The other parent should bring a photocopy of the death certificate.

If traveling with foster parents/legal guardians

Get a copy of adoption or guardianship documents.

If traveling with a person other than their legal guardian/parent

That individual must have written approval from the parent/guardian. The letter should contain the address and telephone numbers of the parents/guardians.
