IMMIGRATION AND VISAS

Passport Requirements

All travelers except the following require a passport:

1. Travellers with travel documents issued by the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo to Kosovo’s permanent inhabitants.

2. Travellers with National Identity cards or documents with photos issued to Citizens of Germany, such as «Crew Travel DocumentÂ.»

3. Travellers with «KinderausweisÂ,» a German identity document issued to children up to 16 years old. Children aged less than ten years old must be accompanied by a legal guardian or must be traveling in a school group.

4. Travellers with an «Laissez-Passer» issued by the United Nations.

5. Travellers with an «Laissez-Passer» issued by the European Union.

6. The travelers with travel documents are issued to refugees and people without nationality or citizenship.

7. Travellers with the Seafarer’s National Identity Document, Seaman passport, and or the Seaman Book issued by the countries that have signed Convention no. 108 of the International Labour Organization.

8. Travellers with National Identity Cards issued to Citizens of Switzerland and member countries of the European Economic Area except Denmark, Iceland, Republic of Ireland, Norway, and Great Britain.

9. Travellers with emergency passports issued to Belgium, Canada, Republic of Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Sweden, or Great Britain.

Document Validity

The Passports and alternative papers, which or either of them, must be valid on at arrival.

Additional Information

1. Passports issued by former Czechoslovakia or by «Czech and Slovak Federal Republic» are not valid anymore.

2. Travellers aged 15 years old or more must have their travel documents.

3. Students, apart from their nationality, residing in a European Union member country and traveling as part of a school group from within the European Union, do not need a passport on condition that:

– Their names are stated on an «List of Travellers» stamped by the school and certified by the proper authority in charge in their home country;

– The school group is accompanied by one of the teachers at that school as acceptable;

– This «List of Travellers» must contain a photo of the pupil.

N.B.

Not all European Union member countries issue this type of «List of TravellersÂ.» Besides, the exemption will NOT apply to the «List of Travellers» that is only stamped by the school without photos.

Visa Issuance

1.The Travellers who are kindly requested to contact the Czech Republic’s nearest representation before arrival as clearly.

2. On arrival: A visa issued if necessary by the Authority of Aliens and the Border Police to the family members of European Union citizens and who have reliable proof of their good relationship such as the marriage certificates; they can obtain a short-term visa against the no fees.

Visa Exemptions

All travelers must hold a visa except the following:

1. Citizens of the Czech Republic.

2. Citizens of the following countries such as Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Cyprus, Iceland, Republic of Ireland, Latvia, Lichtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Italy, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland as mentioned clearly.

3. Travellers with British passports endorsed «British CitizenÂ.»

4. Travellers who are all staying for no more than three months provided they are the following:

4.1. The Citizens of Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, and Vatican City as finely.

4.2. Travellers with the ordinary passports issued to Citizens of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, Guatemala, Israel, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Uruguay, and Venezuela;

4.3. Travellers with the consular, official, or diplomatic passports, provided they are citizens of Guatemala and Panama;

4.4. Travellers with the diplomatic, official, or service passports who are all provided and they are the citizens of Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Thailand;

4.5. Travellers with the diplomatic, official, or special passports which are provided they are the citizens of Chile;

4.6. Travellers with diplomatic, service, or special passports, provided they are citizens of Egypt, Morocco, Turkey, and the Yemen Republic;

4.7. Travellers with the official or diplomatic passports which are provided that they are the citizens of Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Pakistan, and Paraguay as listed;

4.8. Travellers with the diplomatic or service passports which are provided that they are citizens of Croatia, Israel, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, South Africa, Uruguay, and Venezuela as fine;

4.9. Travellers with the diplomatic or special passports that are provided they are citizens of Peru, Tunisia;

4.10. Travellers with the diplomatic passports which are provided and they are the citizens of Vietnam;

4.11. Regardless of the nationality, travelers with a residence permit are issued by Monaco or one of the Schengen States as listed.

5. Travellers who are staying for not more than three months in a half-year period that provided they are:

5.1. Citizens of Antigua & Barbuda, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Brunei, El Salvador, Honduras, Japan, Mauritius, New Zealand, Paraguay, Seychelles, St. Kitts-Nevis, and the United States of America;

5.2. Travellers with British passports endorsed «British National (Overseas)»;

5.3. Travellers with British passports endorsed:

– «British Overseas Territories Citizen» that contain the label’ right of residence’ issued by Great Britain; or

– «British SubjectÂ,» which also contain the label’ right of residence’ issued by Great Britain;

5.4. Travellers with ordinary passports issued to Citizens of Canada;

5.5. Travellers with the passports issued by Hong Kong or by the Macao;

5.6. Travellers with the diplomatic passports provided they are the citizens of Albania, Russia, Bosnia, and Herzegovina, Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia, Republic of Moldova, Republic of Montenegro, Republic of Serbia, and Ukraine as mentioned;

5.7. Travellers with the diplomatic passports of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, as mentioned.

5.8. Travellers with an «Laissez-Passer» issued by the United Nations or the European Union;

5.9. Travellers with a residence permit provided by the European Economic Region Member States and Switzerland with the label:’ long term resident’s E.C. residence permit’ to be executed in the form of a sticker or on a different paper.

5.10. Travellers with a ‘family member’ residence permit issued by the member countries of the European Economic Area and Switzerland to a family member (spouse, legal partner, and the children aged less than 21 years old, direct dependants in the descending or ascending line), who is a citizen of a European Economic Area member country or Switzerland;

5.11. Approved refugees and people without nationality or citizenship with a travel document and residence permit of a European Economic Area member country or Switzerland.

6. Travellers who are staying for not more than the 30 days provided they are:

6.1. Citizens of Singapore.

6.2. Travellers with official or diplomatic passports provided they are citizens of the Philippines.

7. Travellers with a residence permit issued by the Czech Republic.

8. Travellers, regardless of nationality, residing in the Lichtenstein for not more than the five days and holding proof of their residence provided they are in the transit through Schengen Area. They are continuing their trip to a country outside the Schengen Area apart from the means of transport.

TWOV (Transit Without Visa)

TWOV is permissible for the travelers who are continuing their trip on the same day to a third country provided:

– They are do not leave the airport transit area such as ;

– They are arriving from and depart to a NON-Schengen country as mentioned; and

– They have the tickets with confirmed reservations and all necessary documents on the needed for their next trip.

* Exceptions: Such rules do not apply to:

a. Refugees and people without nationality or citizenship.

b. Travellers with Palestinian travel documents except those with a valid residence permit for Andorra, Canada, Japan, San Marino, or the United States of America.

c. The Citizens of Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Cameroon, Congo (Kinshasa), Cote d’Ivoire, Chad, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Liberia, Iran, Libya, Mali, India, Mauritania, Morocco, Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sierra Leone, Senegal, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan or the Yemen Republic, who must have an airport transit visa except for travelers who have a valid residence permit for the listed countries Andorra, Canada, Japan, San Marino, and or the United States of America; and

travelers who have governmental duty passports.

d. Citizens of Syria, and which it is except if they have a governmental duty passport.

Additional Information

1. All travelers must have the necessary documents for their next trip and return or onward tickets or enough money to buy return or onward tickets and cover their intended visit expenses. They are must also finely complete and sign a border-crossing card. While going through border crossing control, travelers must be able to show proof of the following if asked by the Authority of Aliens and Border Police:

1. A satisfactory means of support to cover expenses for their stay; children aged less than 18 years old may have only half the amount required by adult individuals as follows;

a. At least CZK 1,160 per each day of stay provided they will stay for no more than 30 days;

b. CZK 34,800 if the visit lasts for more than in 30 days. The total amount which is increases by the CZK 4,640 for each month of estimated visit;

c. CZK 116,000 and if the visit is intended for the business and lasts for more than the 90 days.

2. Documents are confirming financial security such as credit cards, bank account statements, etc.

3. Documents confirming accommodation for the period of stay in the Czech Republic except if another arrangement is provided;

4. A valid health insurance (complete coverage). Requests concerning financial issues and accommodation can be confirmed by the official invitation letter affirmed by the Authority of Aliens and Border Police within no more than 180 days after its verification.

* Exemptions:

1.1. Citizens of member countries of the European Economic Area and Switzerland;

1.2. Travellers with a diplomatic or service passport or another travel document along with a diplomatic or special visa.

2. Students, which apart from their nationality, and who are in a European Union member country, Liechtenstein or Switzerland, and it traveling as part of a school group from within the European Union, and Liechtenstein or Switzerland which do not need a visa on condition that their names are stated on an «List of the Travellers» stamped by the school and school group that is accompanied by one of the teachers at that school;

N.B.

When the «List of Travellers» is only stamped by the school and is neither authenticated by the appropriate authority in charge nor containing photos of the students, each student must carry his/her travel document and proof of place of residence.

3. Citizens of the member countries of the European Economic Area or Switzerland and their family members must register within the 30 days after their arrival for the visits lasting for more than 30 days at either the Authority of an Aliens or Border Police or through the accommodation provider as mentioned.

4. Citizens of other countries must register within three workdays after arriving at the Authority of Aliens and Border Police or through the accommodation provider.

Warnings

– Travellers who do not respect entry on regulations that will be deported at the expense of the transporting carrier as follows. Furthermore, the transporting carrier will have to pay detention costs estimated at CZK 1,925 per person per day to cover the expenses of the stay of deported travelers at Prague Airport until their departure.

– Transporting carriers bringing in travelers with incorrect documents will have to pay fines up to CZK 200,000 per traveler.

CUSTOMS AND FOREIGN EXCHANGE

Import Regulations

Free import to passengers that arriving with goods purchased within the E.U. (for personal use only):

1. 800 cigarettes, 400 cigarillos (max. 3 grams each), 200 cigars, and 1 kilogram of the smoking tobacco;

2. 10 liters of spirits over 22% and ethyl alcohol, 20 liters of alcoholic beverages, which is less than 22%, 90 liters of wine (though no more than 60 liters of the sparkling wine), and 110 liters of beer.

Free imports to the passengers arriving from non-EU Member States (incl. the Canary Islands, Channel Islands, and the other similar territories):

1. tobacco products for passengers who are aged 17 and older:

– 200 cigarettes; or

– 100 cigarillos (max. 3 grams each), or

– 50 cigars, or

– 250 grams of smoking tobacco; or

– a proportional mix of these products;

2. The alcoholic beverages for passengers aged 17 and older:

– 1 liter of drinks and a volume of over 22%, or non-denatured ethyl alcohol with a fine volume of more than 80%; or

– 2 liters of the spirits or aperitifs made of wine or similar beverages which is less than the 22% volume, or sparkling wines or liquor wines; or

– a proportional mix of these products; and in the addition

– 4 liters of still wine; and

– 16 liters of beer;

3. For the food, fruits, medications, and the flowers for personal use;

4. And the other goods (for air travelers), which is up to the total value of EUR 430.- (per adult) or EUR 200.- (for an individual passenger aged less than 15 years).

Products of the animal origin, not originating from an E.U. Member State, Andorra, Liechtenstein, Norway, San Marino, and Switzerland, or the United Kingdom, are not permitted for importing into an E.U. Member State, which is except for limited amounts from Andorra, Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland and the small amounts of specific products from the other countries.

Certain plants and plant products entering the E.U. must have an original phytosanitary certificate (see www.ec.europa.eu/food/plant/plant_health_biosecurity). These items must be declared on the arrival and are subject to phytosanitary checks as fine.

Export Regulations

There are no restrictions on export. However, the export of cultural heritage articles is allowed only with prior approval by the Czech Ministry of Culture, which is listed.

Crew Members Customs Regulations

If traveling from a non-European Union country to another European Union country, travelers can free import goods up to a total value of EUR 22 per each trip. If traveling within the European Union, travelers become subject to the same limits that apply to the import of non-tax-free goods.

Pets

The Special Law (E.C. No. 998 of 2003) and Legislation (E.U.) 576/2013 of the European Parliament and of the European Council apply to cats and dogs. However, echinococcus and ticks treatment is not required. Entry may be denied if the animal is not in good health or case of an unfavorable epizootological situation in the home country. Birds are subjected to Decision (E.C.) No.25/2007. Pets may enter as traveler’s luggage, as cargo, or in the cabin. Baggage Clearance Regulations

A traveler’s luggage should be cleared at the first airport of entry in the Czech Republic.

a. Exemption:

Travelers are continuing their trip onwards to Ostrava.

Airport Tax

All travelers are finely not required to pay on any airport tax upon departing from the airport.

Currency Rules

Import And Export:

There are no restrictions on importing and exporting local currency (CZK-Czech Koruna) and foreign currencies for travelers arriving from or traveling to a country within the European Union.

Travelers coming directly from or traveling to a country outside the European Union: quantities greater than or equal to EUR 10,000 in another currency, like banker’s draught and cheques of some sort, must be reported.

Arms And Ammunition Regulations

To import sporting guns, travelers need a special license and gun license obtained before arrival.
