Introduction

Peru is situated in the southern part of South America and borders Ecuador and Colombia to the north, Brazil, and Bolivia to the east, Chile to the south, and the Pacific to the west. It’s pretty quick to reach Peru. You will be issued the “Tarjeta Andina de Migracion” (TAM) and the customs declaration form shortly before the landing of the stewardesses on your flight. According to Peruvian legislation, international tourists must provide a return ticket/passage when entering the country. Although this rule is not followed by Peruvian immigration, airlines sometimes inquire for a return or departure ticket while checking in for a flight to Peru. When you can’t have that several airlines decline to board the flight. Mostly on arrival in Peru, you will receive a 30, 60, 90, or 183-day visa depending on the immigration officer at the desk. Anybody traveling to Peru for commercial purposes, in particular when business contracts or agreements are signed, or business-related financial transactions are made, must apply for a business visa at the Peruvian Consulate before entering the country. Foreign nationals who wish to visit Peru and need a visa can apply for a tourist visa based on their country of origin if they have recreational purposes. Anyone who travels to Peru for commercial purposes, in particular when contracts or deals are signed or financial transactions related to the business are made, must apply for a business visa before entering into a Peruvian Consulate.
