The Sri Lankan Ministry of Health has announced the country to be in Risk Alert Level 3. A nationwide prohibition on all meetings is in effect under these guidelines. A curfew may be imposed in high-risk locations.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has declared a Level 3 Travel Health Notice for Sri Lanka owing to COVID-19, meaning that the country has a high level of COVID-19. If you are entirely vaccinated with an FDA-approved vaccine, your chance of catching COVID-19 and having severe symptoms may be reduced.

Travel Banned
U.S. citizens are allowed to enter Sri Lanka. A cruise ship or private vessel passengers are not allowed to disembark.
Covid Vaccine for Travel
You need to be fully vaccinated before you visit Sri Lanka.
Applicants who have not been fully vaccinated must select a safe and secure certified Level 01 hotel for quarantine purposes.
Mandatory Covid Test
A negative Covid test is essential when entering Sri Lanka. U.S. nationals and LPRs who have been completely vaccinated must show proof of vaccination and a negative COVID-19 test three (3) days prior to their flight.
Mandatory Health Declaration Form
Passengers need to complete a health declaration form before arriving in Sri Lanka.

Quarantine required
Travelers who have not taken the complete course of a COVID vaccine are obliged to quarantine at a government hotel for 14 days upon the arrival. Fully vaccinated travelers are free from quarantine if they have obtained a full vaccine (typically two doses) and waited two weeks before traveling.

Covid Test at Airport
According to health officials, all travelers entering Sri Lanka must undergo a PCR test upon entry at the airport. You can enter the country merely if the results are negative. The airport will enable travelers to undergo a PCR test upon arrival and have their results within three hours.

The government has established a nightly curfew from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. The Government of Sri Lanka has imposed limitations on the inter-provincial voyage. As part of the voyage restriction, there will be checkpoints and an enhanced police presence on the borders of provinces.

Travelers from Sri Lanka who do not have a travel history during the 14 days before their arrival can enter the United States.
Mandatory Covid test
- If you are entirely vaccinated, you must show vaccination confirmation and negative COVID-19 test results no more than three days before departure.
- If you have not been fully vaccinated, A negative COVID-19 test result was obtained no more than one day before departure.
Travel attestation form
Passengers must complete a travel attestation form before arrival. This form will be given by the airline at check-in.
