Covid-19 Travel Restrictions in Myanmar

Myanmar has postponed all incoming international flights until at least October 31, except for relief flights, medical evacuation flights, and flights approved by the Department of Civil Aviation. New tourist visa applications are currently suspended, but Myanmar has begun accepting applications for foreign nationals with a convincing argument for business visas. Travelers must apply and receive permission from the nearest Myanmar Embassy.
Before boarding a flight to Myanmar, all business visa arrivals will need to complete a week of quarantine. This can be confirmed by the declaration of an employer, physician, or self-declaration. Travelers may only leave the place of quarantine to take a COVID test within the final 72 hours preceding the journey. Upon arrival in Myanmar, travelers will be temperature-checked and must have a negative COVID-19 test result given within the previous 72 hours. The normal quarantine period for new arrivals after arrival is 28 days (21 days in a facility arranged by the government, followed by 7 days of home quarantine). Foreign nationals may, however, request permission to experience a shorter quarantine period by contacting their nearest Myanmar Embassy.
