On 19 September, El Salvador reopened its airports with improved health protocols (mask-wearing, social distance, and temperature control).

All travelers, with the exception of travelers younger than 2 years of age and travelers with a diplomatic, government, service, or special passport, must present a negative COVID-19 PCR test result taken within 72 hours prior to departure for boarding a flight. Before flying, consult the airline for full information.

It would not be necessary to quarantine travelers with a negative PCR test result upon arrival.
