Travelers must have a COVID-19 negative certificate obtained 72 hours before departure, as well as a clear insurance policy from Costa Rica, and must complete an epidemiological information form online.

For 14 days upon entry, Costa Rican nationals and legal residents who enter the country will be forced to self-isolate. Under the amended restrictions mentioned above, tourists entering from 1 August onwards will not be allowed to self-isolate. With a confirmed onward booking, Costa Rican authorities are approving same-day airside transit.
