IMMIGRATION AND VISAS

Passport Requirements:

All travelers except the following require a passport:

1. All travelers with the national identity card issued to Croatia, San Marino, Switzerland, and European Economic Area member countries except Denmark, Iceland, Republic of Ireland, Norway, and the United Kingdom.

2. Travellers with the ‘Kinderausweis,’ is a German identity document that issued to the children.

3. Travellers with the ‘Laissez-Passer’ issued by the United Nations, as mentioned.

4. Travellers with travel documents and residence permits issued by a European Economic Area member country or Switzerland to recognized refugees and people without nationality or citizenship.

5. Travellers with travel documents issued by the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo to Kosovo’s permanent inhabitants.

Document Validity:

Passports and the alternative papers, or either of them, must be valid for at least three months after the period of the intended visit as fair.

a. Lithuania citizens may enter with the passports or alternative documents which is valid on arrival.

b. The Passports are issued to citizens of the European Economic Area member countries, and Switzerland must be valid on arrival.

c. Residents of a Lithuania which may enter with travel documents valid on arrival.

Additional information:

Students, apart from their nationality, residing in a European Union member country and traveling as part of a school group from within the European Union, do not need a passport on condition that:

– Their names are mainly stated with a ‘List of Travellers’ which was stamped by the school and is certified by the concerned authority within their home country as listed fairly;

– The school group is finely accompanied by one of the teachers at that school as mentioned;

– ‘List of travelers’ must contain a photo of the student in this.

N.B.

Not all the European Union member has a countries issue this type of ‘List of Travellers’ as finely. The exemption will NOT apply to the ‘List of Travellers’, and the school only stamps that without photos.

Visa Issuance:

1. Before arrival: The travelers are kindly requested to contact Lithuania’s nearest representation as reasonably.

2. On arrival: a visa may be issued if necessary, to travelers staying for no more than ten days provided they have proof that a visa application has been presented; this visa is issued by:

-Ministry of the Foreign Affairs to the State Border Guard Service; or

– By the Ministry of an Interior (Immigration Department) to the Border Police Department, the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Visa Exemptions:

All travelers must hold a visa except the following:

1. Citizens of Lithuania.

2. Austria, Belgium, Italy, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Poland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Denmark, Republic of Ireland, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland these all citizens.

3. Travellers with British passports endorsed ‘British Citizen.’

4. Travellers who are all staying for not more than the 90 days so long as they are:

4.1. Citizens of the Canada, Andorra, Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Brazil, Brunei, Costa Rica, Croatia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Israel, Japan, Republic of Korea, Chile, Malaysia, Mauritius, Mexico, Monaco, New Zeeland, Nigeria, Panama, Paraguay, San Marino, Seychelles, Singapore, St Kitts-Nevis, Uruguay, the United States of America, Vatican City and Venezuela as listed as fair;

4.2. British passports endorsed ‘British National (Overseas) is with the travelers’;

4.3. Travellers with British passports endorsed:

– ‘British Overseas Territories Citizen’ and that contains the label ‘right of residence’ which is issued by Great Britain; or

– ‘British Subject,’ which also contains a label ‘right of the residence’ which was issued by Great Britain;

4.4. Travellers with the passports which is issued by the Hong Kong (A Special Administrative Region of China) as plotted as fair;

4.5. Travellers with the diplomatic and official passports for all citizens of the Ukraine;

4.6. Travellers are with the diplomatic, official, and special passports for the citizens of Turkey;

4.7. Travellers with diplomatic passports are Albania, Armenia, Bosnia Herzegovina, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Republic of Moldova, Republic of Montenegro, Russia, and the Republic of Serbia.

5. Travellers with diplomatic and official passports provided they are citizens of the People’s Republic of China staying for no more than 30 days in a half-year period.

6. Travellers with residence permits issued by Lithuania.

7. Travellers, regardless of nationality, with a residence permit issued by Monaco or the Schengen States as listed.

8. Travellers with the ‘Laissez-Passer’ issued by the United Nations as listed.

9. Travellers, who are that regardless of the nationality, and who is residing in the Lichtenstein for no more than five days and who are holding the proof of their residence which was provided that they are in the transit through the Schengen Area and are continuing their trip to a country outside the Schengen Area on apart from the means of transport as fair.

10. Travellers staying for no more than 90 days in a half-year period provided they have travel documents and residence permits issued by a European Economic Area member country or by Switzerland to recognized refugees and people without nationality or citizenship.

TWOV (Transit Without Visa):

TWOV is permissible for travelers continuing their trip on the same day to a third country without leaving the airport provided:

– They are arriving that from and departing for the non-Schengen countries as fair;

– They have confirmed onward tickets; and

– They have all the necessary documents which are needed for their next trip.

However, this does not apply to:

a. Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Congo (Kinshasa), Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Iran, Iraq, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia, and Sri Lanka citizens are those who need an airport transit visa;

a.1. exceptions:

Travelers with a residence permit for Andorra, Bulgaria, Canada, Cyprus, Republic of Ireland, Japan, Romania, San Marino, the United States of America, or the United Kingdom.

Additional information:

1. Travellers who must have enough money for their stay, return or onward tickets, and all the necessary documents for their next trip as fair.

1.1. Exemptions:

Citizens of the member countries which of the European Economic Area, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, and Switzerland

2. Travellers that must have health and the travel insurance to cover any medical expenses as mentioned;

2.1. Exemptions:

All the Citizens of the member countries of which the European Economic Area and Switzerland.

3. Visa exemptions are granted to travelers staying for no more than 90 days in a half-year period. The extension is possible against a fee of LTL 60.

4. Students, who are apart from their nationality, and those who are residing in a European Union member country, Liechtenstein or Switzerland and traveling as part of a school group from within the European Union, Liechtenstein or Switzerland which do not need a visa on the condition that follows:

– That their names which are stated on a ‘List of Travellers’ stamped by the school and is certified by the concerned authority in their home country as fair;

– School group is accompanied by one of the teachers at that school is fair;

N.B.

When the ‘List of Travellers’ who are all are only stamped by the school and is neither authenticated by the concerned authority nor containing the students’ photos, each student must carry his/her travel document and proof of residence.

CUSTOMS AND FOREIGN EXCHANGE

Import regulations:

1. Travellers who are all arriving with goods bought within the European Union for personal use only and are allowed for free import of:

a. Tobacco products: 800 cigarettes; 400 cigarillos each weighing no more than three grams; 200 cigars; one kilogram of pipe or cigarette tobacco;

b. Alcoholic drinks: 10 liters of alcoholic drinks over 22%; 20 liters of alcoholic drinks less than 22%; 90 liters of wine but no more than 60 liters of sparkling wine; 110 liters of beer.

2. Travellers who are arriving from the non-European Union countries which including the Canary Islands, Channel Islands, and other similar regions, are allowed free import of:

a. Travellers aged 17 years old and more are allowed 200 cigarettes; 100 cigarillos each weighing no more than three grams; 50 cigars; 250 grams of smoking tobacco; or a proportional mixture of these products;

b. The Travellers are aged 17 years old, and if more are allowed one liter of alcoholic drinks over 22% volume; non-denatured ethyl alcohol with more than 80% volume; two liters of alcoholic drinks or that the aperitifs made of wine or similar drinks which were less than 22% volume; sparkling wines or the liqueur wines; or a proportional mixture of these products, in addition to four liters of still wine; and 16 liters of beer;

c. Medicines for personal use only;

d. Air travelers are allowed other goods up to a total value of EUR 430 per adult travelers or EUR 150 per travelers aged less than 15 years.

3. Prohibited Goods

Animal products, not coming from a European Union member country, Andorra, Lichtenstein, Norway, San Marino, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom, may not be imported into a European Union member country except for the small quantities from Andorra, Croatia, the Faeroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland, and small quantities of particular products from other countries as fair.

Individual plants and the plant products entering the E.U. must have an original phytosanitary certificate (see www.ec.europa.eu/food/plant/plant_health_biosecurity). These are the items that must be declared on arrival and are subject to the phytosanitary checks.

Export regulations:

Travelers are allowed free export of objects that are imported duty-free.

Pets:

Cats and dogs are the subjects to Regulations (E.C.) No. 998/2003 and Regulation (E.U.) 576/2013.

Birds are subject to the Decision (E.C.) No. 25/2007. Pets may enter as passenger’s checked at baggage, in the cabin, or as cargo.

Baggage Clearance regulations:

A traveler’s luggage should be cleared at the first airport of entry or transit in Lithuania.

a. Exemption:

Luggage of travelers continuing their trip on the same flight cleared at the airport of final destination in Lithuania.

Airport tax:

No airport tax is much levied on the passengers upon embarkation at the airport.

Currency Import regulations:

The same rules apply, which are to the currency import as to currency export.

Currency Export regulations:

There are no restrictions on exporting local currency (Lithuania Litas-LTL) and the foreign currencies for travelers arriving from or traveling to a country within the European Union. As for the travelers arriving that directly from or traveling to a country outside the European Union and sums higher than the EUR 10,000 or its equivalent in another currency, including the banker’s draft and cheques of any kind, must be declared.

Arms and Ammunition regulations:

The Arms and ammunition are prohibited except with a permit which is obtained from the government or the concerned on ministries in Lithuania:

– Military weapons, police and military ammunition, other control or precautionary equipment, training aids for police officials;

– Hunting or sporting guns and weapons, electric fishing equipment.
