Oversize and Excess Baggage Fees:

If our bag exceeds the linear restrictions or we possess more bags than the permitted allowance, we need to pay additional fees. For this purpose, we need to contact Emirates directly.

Sports Equipment:

A fixed handling fee is chargeable for certain checked items such as bicycles and surfboards due to the fragility, size, or other handling requirements. We can take Ski equipment as a part of our standard baggage allowance. But in some cases, additional charges might be applicable. If we are checking in with Ski equipment, we can contact our local Emirates office directly for further information.

A set of snow ski equipment consists of one pair of ski poles, one pair of skis and one pair of ski boots, (or) one pair of boots, and one snowboard.

A set of water ski equipment consists of one slalom water ski or one pair of standard water skis.

Emirates will accept wind surfboards, kite surfing equipment, bodyboards, kayaks, pole vault, or other sporting equipment as checked baggage. Part of our standard baggage allowance provided any sail is collapsible and detachable. It is appropriately packed and in a hard-shell packing case, and if not, it requires the limited release. For surfboards, we need to remove fins. If it is unable to remove, we need to pack it with polystyrene foam firmly. We need to pack the boards properly in a padded surf-bag. The rails (sides of the board) must have a cardboard downside to absorb shock. Both tail and nose need to have neoprene foam (or) bubble-wrap attached for protection.

Excess baggage fees will be applicable if our overall baggage amount or weight exceeding the normal free allowance. For information on excess baggage rates, contact the local Emirates office. Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus (SCUBA) equipment usually consists of flippers, masks, buoyancy control devices, snorkels, diving suits, etc. If we are carrying air bottles also, we need to make sure it is empty. The weight of an individual sports equipment with its total dimension exceeding 118 inches or 300 centimeters cannot be transported as checked baggage; it needs to be sent as freight or cargo.

CPAP/PAP Devices on Emirates:

Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) or Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) devices are allowed on board for use during our flight journey. But we need to ensure that these devices are not exceeding the weight or size for approved storage of cabin baggage.
