Introduction

Visitors may need to get a visa to enter Mexico. Mexico Tourist visa is valid for a single entry for six months. In certain cases, the tourist visa can be extended for double or multiple entries. What is a Tourist Card in Mexico? 

  • The Mexico tourist card (Forma Migratoria Multiple, FMM) is a permit that must be obtained by any foreign national before they can enter the country. It states how many days you are allowed to stay in the country, and you have to leave before those days are up. The Forma Migratoria Multiple is a permit that shows that the holder residing in Mexico is simply a tourist and can’t work. You have to carry the card always with you. 
  • Anyone entering Mexico as a tourist must be given a Tourist Passport. This includes even citizens of countries removed from Mexico Tourist Visas. 
  • The Tourist Card can be obtained at a Mexican check-in point upon arrival, and some airlines also give the Tourist Card along with their ticket cost. However, you can also obtain a Mexico Tourist- Card online up to seven days before you plan to fly.
  • The difference between that two visas required nationals must apply at an embassy to receive a tourist visa. If they acquire a visa, they must also obtain a Tourist Passport. On the other hand, a visa-free foreigner only needs to get a Tourist Card before they fly or enter to Mexico – no need for a Tourist Visa.

Who needs a Mexico Tourist Visa? 

Mexico exempts citizens of many countries (including all countries within the European Union) and regions from obtaining a tourist visa for a period of between 30 days and 180 days to visit the country.   • You must provide proof that you have permanent residency in the country in which your application is made.

  • If you’re a student: the letter from your educational institution confirming your registration and including your course details. 
  • If you’re self-employed: You can apply investment certificates, property deeds, business registration, etc.

What are the procedures applying for the Mexico Tourist visa?
