Do I need a Guatemala visa?

How long would it take for a Guatemala visa to be obtained?

Currently, depending on the consulate we need to submit the application, a visa takes anywhere from 2 days to 15 + days to process at the Guatemalan Embassy/Consulate. The processing time for a visa depends on many variables and can adjust without warning at the discretion of the consulate.

What’s the difference between a Guatemala visa and a passport?

An official government document that certifies one’s identity and citizenship is a passport. The passport serves two purposes; to regain access to the country of citizenship (i.e., the United States) and to receive an entry to the country you are visiting from several countries. A Guatemala visa is an official document from the government that authorizes you to be in the country temporarily. In order to gain admission, many countries need a visa. The Guatemalan visa is obtained from the Guatemalan Embassy or consulates in the world in the form of a stamp/sticker on the passport. We have employees distributed around the country to manage your application for you and then return the passport overnight when it is done.

What is the validity period of the Guatemala visa?

A visa for Tourist is valid for a period of 90 days from the date of issue. A visa for business  is valid for a period of 180 days from the date of issue. Guatemala does not have a transit visa, and tourists traveling through the country must, if possible, obtain a tourist visa.
